Pauline

Turkey offers such a rich mosaic of experiences that it would be a shame to discover it through a fixed itinerary. With 783,562 square kilometers of this transcontinental country, every traveler can find something to their liking: history lovers will marvel at the 3,000 archeological sites, while nature enthusiasts will explore the 40 national parks of the territory.
A customized trip to Turkey allows you to escape the beaten paths for an authentic experience. Unlike traditional tours that follow pre-set programs, your personalized stay adapts to your passions, budget and pace. This way, you could spend three days in Istanbul to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the Grand Bazaar, or opt for a full week in Cappadocia to explore each valley at your leisure.
Our Travel Planners, local experts passionate about their region, become your partners in this adventure. They know Istanbul's secret spots, where to admire the most beautiful sunsets on the Lycian coast, and can organize a meeting with a traditional potter in Avanos. This local expertise makes all the difference: your trip to Turkey becomes a privileged discovery, far from mass tourism.
Customization also allows to tailor your stay to your travel companions. A family with children might opt for fun activities like exploring the underground cities of Cappadocia, while a honeymoon couple might choose romantic moments in a boutique hotel overlooking the Bosphorus. Small group travelers can share unique experiences like an Ottoman cuisine cooking class in a traditional house.
This tailored approach also reveals the soul of responsible tourism. By working with local partners selected by our Travel Planners, you directly contribute to the economy of the communities you visit. Staying with a local in Cappadocia or eating at family-owned restaurants in Antalya promotes a more equitable and authentic tourism.
The richness of Turkey lies in its ability to offer completely different experiences depending on the regions visited. Your personalized trip can thus combine various aspects of this fascinating country, based on your interests.
Istanbul remains the beating heart of any trip to Turkey. This metropolis of 16 million people, spread across two continents, offers a striking blend of history and modernity. The historic peninsula is home to jewels such as the Hagia Sophia, a 1,500-year-old architectural masterpiece, and the Blue Mosque with its six minarets soaring towards the sky.
The Topkapi Palace, former residence of the Ottoman sultans, reveals 400 years of imperial history through its successive courtyards and exceptional collections. But Istanbul is not limited to its monuments: the neighborhoods of Beyoğlu and Karaköy are teeming with creative energy, among contemporary art galleries, trendy cafes, and rooftops with views of the Bosphorus.
Your Travel Planner can organize exclusive experiences: a private sunset cruise on the Bosphorus, a tour of artisans' workshops in the Fener district, or a tasting of mezze in the city's best lokanta.
300 kilometers southeast of Ankara, Cappadocia unfolds its surreal landscapes shaped by millions of years of erosion. The famous fairy chimneys, these rock formations with fantastic shapes, create a unique setting worldwide. The Göreme National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, houses over 30 Byzantine churches carved into volcanic rock.
The emblematic experience is undoubtedly the hot-air balloon flight at sunrise, when a hundred colorful balloons rise into the pink sky. But Cappadocia can also be discovered on foot, through the Love, Pigeons, or Zelve valleys, each offering its own geological and historical wonders.
Our Travel Planners can show you a different side of Cappadocia: a night in a charming troglodyte hotel, horseback riding through the secret valleys, or an introduction to pottery in the workshop of a master artisan in Avanos.
Turkey reveals more than 8,000 kilometers of coastline, from the Black Sea in the north to the Mediterranean Sea in the south. The Lycian coast, between Fethiye and Antalya, combines paradisiacal beaches and exceptional archaeological sites. The ruins of Xanthos, the ancient capital of Lycia, are nestled next to coves with turquoise waters accessible only by boat.
The Antalya region charms with its perfectly preserved Ottoman old town and fine sandy beaches. Further north, the Aegean coast unveils treasures like Ephesus, one of the best-preserved ancient cities in the world, or the calcareous terraces of Pamukkale, a true cotton castle with therapeutic hot springs.
The less frequented Black Sea offers spectacular mountainous landscapes and a preserved local culture. Trabzon and its perched monasteries, or Safranbolu with its wooden Ottoman houses, are authentic stops for curious travelers.
Creating your customized trip to Turkey with Vialala begins with a thorough exchange with one of our local Travel Planners. These passionate experts take the time to understand your expectations, interests, and constraints to design an itinerary that reflects you.
The process starts with a detailed questionnaire where you specify your preferences: culture or nature, charming or authentic accommodations, brisk or relaxed pace. Your Travel Planner then analyzes this information to propose an initial draft of the itinerary, which you refine together until reaching the perfect trip.
This collaboration enables the integration of unique experiences that are impossible to book on your own. Our Travel Planners organize privileged encounters: dinner with a local in a Cappadoce village, private tour of a ceramic workshop in Iznik, or a traditional gulet cruise along the Lycian coast with a local captain.
The choice of accommodation is given special attention. Depending on your desires, your Travel Planner can suggest a night in a restored Ottoman caravanserai on the Silk Road, a boutique hotel with a terrace over the Bosphorus, or a family pension in the heart of Cappadocia's vineyards. Each establishment is chosen for its authentic character and quality of welcome.
The following table presents the different types of customizable experiences according to your interests
| Interest Center | Proposed Experiences | Recommended Regions |
|---|---|---|
| History and Culture | Private site tours, meetings with archaeologists, artisanal workshops | Istanbul, Ephesus, Cappadocia |
| Nature and Hiking | Guided treks, birdwatching, canyoning | Cappadocia, Lycian coast, Black Sea |
| Gastronomy | Cooking classes, market tours, wine tastings | Istanbul, Gaziantep, Cappadocia |
| Relaxation and Wellness | Traditional hammams, thermal springs, private beaches | Pamukkale, Mediterranean coast, Istanbul |
Our customized trips also integrate a responsible dimension. Your Travel Planners prioritize local partners committed to sustainable development: restaurants using local products, environmentally friendly accommodations, guides from the communities visited. This approach guarantees a positive impact of your trip on the destinations discovered.
Flexibility remains a major asset of our personalized trips. Your itinerary can evolve even during your stay: extend a stage that enchants you, add a last-minute discovery excursion, or change accommodation according to your impressions. Your Travel Planner remains available to adjust your program in real time.
Families particularly appreciate this customization, which allows to adjust the pace and activities to the age of the children. Treasure hunts in Cappadocia's undergrounds, pottery workshops adapted for the youngest, or beaches with children's clubs: every detail is thought out so that both young and old fully enjoy their trip to Turkey.
Turkey is brimming with invaluable cultural and historical treasures to explore. Starting in Istanbul, one can discover iconic mosques such as the Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sophia. For history enthusiasts, the archaeological site of Ephesus provides a fascinating glimpse into ancient Roman life. Cappadocia, renowned for its unique rock formations and underground cities, is a haven for those who love breathtaking landscapes. Don't miss Pamukkale, with its stunning white travertine terraces. Turkey also offers a remarkable culinary experience, with traditional dishes to savor throughout your itinerary. Whether you are interested in culture, history, or nature, Turkey provides a tailor-made travel experience sure to captivate you.
The best time to visit Turkey depends on your climate preferences and activities. Spring (April to June) and autumn (September to November) are ideal due to pleasant weather and mild temperatures, perfect for exploring historical sites and natural landscapes. Summer (July to August) can be very hot, especially in the south, but is great for enjoying the Mediterranean coast. If you're planning to visit Cappadocia or ski in Eastern Anatolia, winter (December to March) offers a magical experience with snow-covered landscapes. However, avoiding religious and national holidays might be wise if you wish to steer clear of large crowds. Regardless of the season, Turkey always promises an unforgettable journey.
To discover an authentic Turkey beyond tourist clichés, delve into its fascinating local activities. Participate in a pottery workshop in Cappadocia, where you can learn the traditional techniques of this age-old art. Explore the spice markets of Istanbul for a unique olfactory and taste immersion. For nature enthusiasts, hiking in the Ihlara Valley offers breathtaking landscapes and hidden rock-carved churches to discover. Lastly, experience a traditional Turkish bath in a hammam for complete relaxation. These off-the-beaten-path activities will allow you to appreciate Turkey from a different perspective, enriching your travel diary with unforgettable memories.
Turkey can be visited all year round thanks to its climatic diversity. Spring (April-May) and autumn (September-October) offer ideal temperatures to discover Istanbul and Cappadocia. Summer is perfect for the Mediterranean coasts, while winter allows you to enjoy Istanbul in a different light, with fewer tourists and a more intimate atmosphere.
A one-week stay allows you to discover two main regions, such as Istanbul and Cappadocia. For a more comprehensive exploration including the Turkish coasts, we recommend 10 to 15 days. Our Travel Planners tailor the duration according to your availability and priorities, optimizing each day to maximize your discoveries.
Our Travel Planners live locally and maintain privileged relationships with local communities. They personally select each partner according to strict criteria of authenticity and quality. This intimate knowledge of the terrain allows them to show you the real Turkey, far from the traditional tourist circuits.
