5 Summer Music Festivals in Europe Not to Miss!

Fellow travelers, mark your calendars! As the summer season starts, there is still time to embark on the most unifying adventure there is, that of music. Depending on your taste, you may choose electronic, indie, alternative music... You will dance to the sound of line-ups sometimes on a beach at sunset, sometimes on an Eastern European island. You will have a unique experience and some melodies will become unforgettable.

Let's head to the United Kingdom, and more specifically Glastonbury. I'm taking you to an iconic venue founded in 1970, which shows it’s a truly authentic festival. Indeed, it was created the day after the death of Jimi Hendrix, and the essence of the project was to provide aid for humanitarian causes. Music lovers travel there to listen to global stars such as Adele, Muse, or Coldplay. For its 2019 edition, we have concocted a quality lineup with headliners like Ed Sheeran, Radiohead, or Katy Perry !

Let's fly to our next destination, Spain for a festival by the water. The FIB of  Benicassim on the Azahar coast some 80 km from Valencia is a must-have. You will discover the leading figures of independent music and big names in pop such as Lana del Rey. On this note, this event is particularly well thought out since the concerts take place at dusk. Thus, festival-goers can enjoy the seaside and water sports. The icing on the cake: there is no need to book a hotel, the organizers have prepared a camping site !  

At the same time, an essential festival for geeks takes place in Barcelona. It is called Sonàr and was designed to promote digital arts and the art of mixing. It's no surprise that Jean-Michel Jarre has performed there. Fans experience an intense time during this festival, and their stay in the Catalan capital does not go unnoticed; they adopt a personalized look with their famous oversized glasses. What if you took the opportunity to spot rising stars...

I now offer you another must-see. Discover the Tomorrowland festival in Belgium. The DJs play their good vibes with light shows for an enthusiastic and satisfied audience. I recommend this stage that has seen the cream of international music such as Alan Walker, Martin Solveig, and Robin Schulz. Finally, please note that there is now a winter edition that took place at Alpe d'Huez.
