Why choose Croatia for your family holidays?

Croatia stands out as an ideal destination for families seeking adventure and discovery. This country on the Adriatic coast harmoniously combines historical heritage, preserved nature, and crystalline beaches, creating a perfect playground for both young and old.

Your children will be amazed by the diversity of Croatian landscapes. From the medieval walls of Dubrovnik to the spectacular waterfalls of Plitvice Lakes, each step of your journey in Croatia reveals unique treasures. The Adriatic Sea, with its warm and clear waters, invites swimming and water activities, while the numerous Croatian islands offer unforgettable getaways.

Croatian tourist infrastructure perfectly adapts to the needs of families. Accommodations often offer spacious apartments with equipped kitchens, allowing meals to be prepared according to everyone's tastes. Restaurants warmly welcome children, and distances between points of interest remain reasonable, avoiding long and tiring journeys.

Our Travel Planners intimately know this destination and can create itineraries tailored to the ages of your children and your interests. They select the best family activities and advise on the optimal times to fully enjoy your family stay in Croatia.

What destinations to prioritize for your family trip to Croatia?

Croatia's richness allows for varied itineraries according to your desires and the length of your stay. Each region has its own assets to charm families.

South Dalmatia: Dubrovnik and its treasures

Dubrovnik, nicknamed the "Pearl of the Adriatic", fascinates with its exceptional world heritage. Your children will love exploring the walls of this old fortified city, discovering breathtaking panoramas of the sea at every step. The cable car leading to Mount Srđ offers a fun adventure and spectacular views of the archipelago.

The beaches in the Dubrovnik area are perfectly suited for families. Banje Beach, located near the historic center, offers shallow waters and suitable facilities. For a more wild getaway, the island of Mljet, accessible by ferry, unveils a preserved national park with its saltwater lakes and pine forests.

The Pelješac Peninsula ideally complements your discovery of South Dalmatia. Ston and its impressive medieval walls, the longest in Europe after the Great Wall of China, offer a grand-scale history lesson. Children will enjoy tasting fresh oysters at the oyster farms of Mali Ston.

Split and Central Dalmatia

Split is an ideal starting point for exploring the Dalmatian coast. Diocletian's Palace, a world heritage site, turns the visit into a real treasure hunt. Your children will discover how a Roman palace from the 4th century became the beating heart of a modern city.

The Split region offers privileged access to the most beautiful Croatian islands. The island of Brač and its famous beach Zlatni Rat change shape according to the currents and winds, creating a fascinating natural spectacle. The shallow waters and fine sand make it a paradise for families.

Trogir, another gem of the world heritage, captivates with its perfectly preserved historic center. This museum-city is easily explored on foot, allowing children to soak up the medieval atmosphere effortlessly.

Essential Croatian islands

The Croatian archipelago includes over 1,000 islands, of which about fifty are inhabited. Each has its personality and specific attractions for families.

The island of Hvar enchants with its fragrant lavender fields and secluded coves. Stari Grad, one of Europe's oldest towns, narrates 2,400 years of history through its cobblestone streets. The island's beaches offer crystal-clear waters perfect for family snorkeling.

The island of Korčula, nicknamed the "Little Dubrovnik", reveals remarkable medieval architecture. Its sandy beaches, rare in Croatia, are particularly appealing to families with young children. Local tradition claims that Marco Polo was born on this island, adding an adventurous dimension to your visit.

What activities to do in Croatia with your children?

The diversity of Croatian landscapes allows for a variety of pleasures and meets the needs of all family members, from toddlers to teenagers.
