Hiking in Switzerland

Discover Switzerland differently.
On the road, bad company! Some children do not willingly walk, which is why I have adapted the hiking program by incorporating some attractions... For their part, the Swiss engage in this sport like no other: more than half practice it regularly. Their natural setting encourages it with its high-altitude trails, swimming lakes, summit panoramas, or arboretums. Welcome to an untouched natural environment where you will get acquainted with chamois, marmots, or even Ursli, the mountain child... Within the 26 Swiss cantons, people speak sometimes in French, sometimes in Swiss German, in Italian or even in ... Romansh. In this Latin language still spoken in the Grisons, "Allegra" is used to greet!

Bern.
Bern, the de facto capital of Switzerland. I invite you to move away from this federal city and head to the Rüttihubel spa resort. A bucolic landscape awaits you with the tender green of the meadows and the glacier crests in the background. Along the way, you stop at the Sensorium and experience light, vibrations, … Your route will take you through the Paul Klee Center with its Renzo Piano architecture and the Creaviva children's museum. As for science enthusiasts, they can visit Albert Einstein's house where he imagined the theory of relativity ...
Rüschegg.
A few cable lengths from Bern, you will find Rüschegg. From the Schwarzenbühl refuge, you will reach the Hörbül pass. Along the way, you will cross an observation walkway, Gäggersteg, which overlooks the forest reserve at 8 meters above the ground. Then, you will go through Pfyffe, a pre-Alpine peak before finishing your loop at the Cheseree cave which you will explore with a flashlight. If you’re not yet satisfied, I suggest one last route : Gurnigel-Wassercheidi. You will then climb the Gantrisch via ferrata !
Thurgau.
After passing the Ittingen-Stammheim Carthusian monastery, closed since 1848, head towards Helfenberg Castle. As the monument dates back to the Middle Ages, stroll among its ruins and enjoy the panoramas that stretch from the summit of Tödi to the Bernese High Alps. From there your route will lead you to the Nussbaum public swimming lake. Finally, you will conclude your hike with a stop in the wine village of Oberstammheim with its half-timbered houses.
Grisons
This region is favored by hikers. A trail runs along the Rhaetian Railway, which winds its way through. I hope you are not afraid of heights because the spiral viaduct traversed by the train will certainly impress you. The most remarkable part is located between Bergün and Preda. Are you looking for a spot to have a picnic? You'll find it near the footbridge that spans the Albula. At Punt Uta, you will embrace a breathtaking view from the lookout, a selfie is a must!
Not far from there, in Guarda, you will become acquainted with the magical world of Ursli. The setting seems to come straight out of an animated film: green pastures, quaint houses with sgraffito on the walls. This technique, originally from Italy, involves scraping the stone to reveal a darker tone. Thus, one can decorate the walls of homes with, for instance, floral patterns. To end, your dear little ones will be tempted by Ursli's trail, featuring 20 interactive steps, but I won't say any more...
Lake of the Fairies High Altitude Lake Crystal Clear Water Mountain Refuge
Still in the Grisons region, I present to you Val de Camp and its lakes. Have you ever seen a high-altitude lake? What strikes the hiker is how much it sparkles and Saoseo is set in an Alpine decor. After passing a second lake, you catch sight of the ice-covered South side of Piz Palü! Besides the meadow which proves to be a good option for a picnic, linger in the stream around the mouth area for some splashing fun!
The Valais.
It is in Valais where you will find the Indian village of Graechen with its teepees! I assure you, the high-altitude trail is exotic. Yet, the highlight remains the retro cable car that will lift you to Hannigalp, further adding to the magic of the place. Moreover, once there, you will have a wonderful surprise: the family park with its treetop adventure course.
NB: If you are passionate about botany, in Ovronnaz you will discover a botanical trail!

Vaud.
The canton of Vaud, whose capital is Lausanne, is best visited in the spring as it holds a gem, an arboretum. How to describe the atmosphere that emanates from this enchanted forest? If your children want to give a hug, they will be spoiled for choice as the place has 3000 trees! A marked trail is available and you can end your walk by passing through Aubanne and admire the Vaud vineyards overlooking Lake Geneva. If the mythical lake attracts you, refer to the article dedicated to it!
